Food, glorious food is yours for the taking at these food fiestas in the capital city

Have you ever tried to tear a dilliwala from his/her plate of chole bhature? It is not a pretty sight. The food (and otherwise) capital of India is devoted to its food and come winter, is obsessed with it. Food festivals crop up in nook and crannies and the city comes out in numbers to get their fill. If you find yourself in the city this winter, here are the food festivals to look out for.

 

Horn OK Please

It’s a food fiesta down at Horn OK Please, the self-proclaimed happiest food festival in Delhi. This three-day event is a mini town in itself. You can take a right at kebab gully for some goodness, move over to the food truck park for snacks, drive into momo land or u-turn into dessert lane for a dose of sugar.

When: November 16-18, 2018

Delhi Kebab Festival

Delicious kebabs being madeDelhi knows its food well, and its kebabs—even better. It’s no wonder then an event such as the Delhi Kebab Festival would take place here. Hosted by LBB Delhi and DLF Promenade, the fest will give you the best of the meaty goodness—kakori, galouti, shammi, dora and seekh kebabs, you’re likely to find them all here!

Delhi Food Truck Festival

 Eat from local food trucks at this fest

A few years ago, food trucks made their entry into Delhi NCR's food scene and became popular spots for snacks. However, they usually ask you to travel that extra mile as they are usually parked in Gurgaon and near Noida-Greater Noida's expressways. Find the best of food trucks in the city and around at this giant food fest. There will be trucks serving all kinds of cuisines including Swaad Central, Horn ok, Burnout, Flip, Hunger Theka and plenty more.

Dessertarian Fest

Some people in cake after breakfast, others believe in cake for breakfast. It is the for the latter that the Dessertarian Fest is dedicated. A fest full of sugar and all things sweet, this is a place where gourmet dreams come to die and wacky takes over. Bubble waffles, chocolate tacos, ice cream pizza, chocolate gol gappa—think of a sweet combination and it shall be here.

When: November 30-December 2

National Street Food Festival

Who doesn't love samosas?Street food brings everyone together, and everyone has a story linked with the spicy chaat best made in street corners, wrapped in newspaper cones or served in small puriyas. The National Street Food Festival is being held to bring food vendors from all over India in one spot. The event is being held by National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) and apart from serving delicious food, will have a host of music performances.
